Exhibitor Tips

We are pleased that you have signed up to exhibit at COLLABORATE 10. We want to make the exhibit process as smooth as possible by providing exhibitor tips that will ensure your organization with a successful experience.

Research has shown that exhibitions are more effective than other marketing tools in achieving specific sales and marketing objectives. Generating sales leads, taking orders, introducing new products and services — all sales related objectives — were found to be more effective than business-to-business advertising, direct mail, public relations and telemarketing.*

What can you do to ensure success? Follow these tips and you’re destined to meet or exceed your expectations.

  • A smile and a positive attitude are the best accessories you can put on in the morning!
  • Make sure to do pre-show marketing to drive attendees to your booth. The walk-bys are the icing on the cake.
  • You must give attendees a reason to walk into your booth; otherwise they will just walk on by.
  • Make sure your purpose for being at the trade show is crystal clear so that attendees don’t get confused by your message.
  • You must welcome attendees into your booth and be a perfect “party host” once they are inside. It is all about the first impression!
  • Maintain your energy level throughout the day, no matter how tired or hungry you are.
  • Staff your booth with the employees who recognize the value of trade shows, shows up on time, will not wander away from the booth, knows the answers to the questions the attendees will ask, maintains a put-together appearance, and are not prone to losing business cards or information that will be needed back at the office.
  • Make sure your booth staff have a uniform appearance so that it is obvious to the attendees who works for your company and can answer their questions.
  • Don’t think that you can do it all, because you can’t. Make sure to outsource functions to companies who represent your company image.
  • Listen to the attendees and give them exactly what they are looking for in the moment. Up-selling can happen once the show is over and a relationship has been established.
  • Have a designated method for getting hot leads to the appropriate sales person both on the show floor and back at the office. Never let an opportunity slip away due to disorganization.
  • Remember that you are representing your company from the minute you get to the airport in your home city to the minute you are in your car driving home. Many relationships have been started on airplanes or shuttles, in the cafeteria or at dinner. And many more relationships have been injured during these same times.
  • And most importantly, have fun!

New! Innovation Hour - Where your “As Seen on TV” pitch can be heard!

$50 entry fee
$1,250 speaking fee

Pitch your most innovative product or service to conference attendees in just 10 minutes.

Each day during the conference the OAUG Mini-Theater will host a one-hour Innovation/How To Showcase. This is a fun and unique opportunity to allow your best sales manager to give a 10-minute, high impact, creative commercial or “As Seen on TV” pitch about why your product/service is a must-have for Oracle users.

After the one-hour session your product/service will be rated by viewers and a secret judge. The winning pitch will win the Best Innovation OAUG Exhibitor Award. Product reviews from the attendees will be sent to the exhibitor post conference.

Your 10-minute pitch can be on any of the following:

  • Pitch and showcase your most innovative product/service
  • Showcase how your product/service can improve workflows in just 10 minutes
  • Display before and after workflow case studies
  • Showcase the ease of your product/service in just 10 minutes.
  • Speak about the benefits of using your product/service

Because these pitches need to be energetic and innovative, potential presenters will be required to send in a video proposal to show management prior to being selected.
